“As a trans woman I struggle to get the health care I need to protect myself"

Sunflower, a young transgender advocate in Zimbabwe, speaks about the challenges she faces in accessing essential sexual and reproductive health services. 

Community-led initiatives such as those championed by UNDP’s #WeBelongAfrica programme are tackling the root causes - discriminatory laws and policies, and HIV-related criminalization. The goal is to foster more inclusive and equitable access to sexual and reproductive health services for key populations and LGBTI+ people, ultimately contributing to improved HIV outcomes.

The #WeBelongAfrica programme is a regional initiative that integrates two UNDP-led projects - the Inclusive Governance Initiative, supported by Sweden, and the Southern Africa Young Key Populations Inclusion Initiative, supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Mozambique.
