In commemoration of six years of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, a shining testament to India’s dedication to global sustainable development and South-South cooperation, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) will organize an event on 29 November. This initiative, with its unwavering focus on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fostering innovation, and building robust partnerships, continues to create a positive impact worldwide.  

Mission and Impact: The Fund champions projects aligned with the 17 SDGs, with a particular emphasis on eradicating poverty, promoting gender equality, ensuring quality education, providing basic amenities, and fostering economic growth. Employing a holistic approach, it addresses development challenges comprehensively. 

Innovation in Action: Managed by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and presently implemented by 12 UN entities at the country level, the $150 million Fund has empowered 54 countries through 76 projects since 2017. From enhancing climate resilience to promoting livelihood development and health education, the Fund serves as a beacon of hope for sustainable development. 

Global Reach, Local Impact: Operating across the Global South, the Fund strategically targets Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States. It stands as a model for South-South cooperation, fostering mutual learning and collaboration among developing nations. 

This event, orchestrated by UNOSSC, will feature: 

1)Discussions on how partnering countries have implemented their development priorities through India-UN Development Partnership Fund projects. 

2)Dialogues on the essential role of mechanisms like the India-UN Development Partnership Fund during the Decade for Action. 

3)Evaluation of the empowerment of vulnerable communities in the developing world through this Fund and identification of further opportunities. 

4)The unveiling of the Fund's Annual Report, offering insights into its impact and future endeavors.
